Monday

Reading – Read for at least 15 minutes.  This can be a fiction or non-fiction book, a comic or magazine or Internet research 

Spelling – Practise at least 8 words that you don't know how to spell.  You could use any of the strategies we use in class, e.g. pyramid write, rainbow write, bubble write, etc.

Maths – Please work through the teaching slides and complete the questions on the sheet by writing your answers in your exercise book (you can print the sheet if you wish but this isn’t essential)

English – Have a look at the story of Beowulf that we have been reading in class.  Make sure you know the key characters and the key points of the story.  You may want to write some notes as you explore the PowerPoint.  

History/Art -  Have a look at this PowerPoint which shows examples of illuminating letters.  Have a go at writing your name in this style.

English – Complete this Beowulf task.  There are 3 levels of the same task, have a look at all 3 challenges and and choose one to complete. 

Science -  Have a look at this website which explains the watercycle.  Create a diagram and write a short paragraph to explain what you have learnt.  

Wednesday

English – Design and draw your own monster like Grendel from our story.  Then write a description of your monster.  What does your monster look like? What are your monster's strengths and weeknesses? What makes your character so monstrous? Does your monster have any good qualities? 

PSHE -  Have a look at this PowerPoint about road safety.  Then create a poster to inform others about road safety.
