Implementation

In the Early Years, maths is embedded into everyday learning using Development Matters, with a focus on small steps and readiness for Year 1. Across Years 1–6, we follow Power Maths, a mastery programme aligned with the National Curriculum.

We use the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract approach to deepen understanding:

Concrete: Hands-on resources and manipulatives

Pictorial: Visual representations to support reasoning

Abstract: Confident use of numbers and symbols

We use Daily Dashboard sessions each morning to consolidate learning and practice new skills. We also use Times Tables Rock Stars to develop fluency in multiplication — a key skill that supports all areas of maths.
