Y6 History

In history, year 6 have been exploring the legacy of the Anglo-Saxons in Britain. Today, the children used atlases and UK maps to find place names which indicate Anglo-Saxon heritage. Did you know that places ending in 'ham' are likely to have Anglo-Saxon roots? It meant 'village' and suggests that it was an Anglo-Saxon settlement before becoming the places we know today.
